The light reflected off of her eye like a lighthouse sending out a warning signal to ships. “Don’t come too close or you’ll wreck,” the beam said to me. “Guard your heart and sail at a safe distance. You may approach the shore but only when the storms pass.” When will they be done, I asked the beam. “When the time is right the seas shall calm,” the beam answered. So I sit and wait, sailing along these rocky waves, waiting for the storm in her heart to pass so I may approach.
